Find Products Frequently Bought Together in GA4

Hi Reader,

A few weeks ago, my girlfriend came to me with a tough question:

"Robert, how do I find products frequently bought together in GA4?"

(she also works in ecommerce, so we bounce ideas often)

I was a bit annoyed that she interrupted my work, so I looked at her and answered with a slight smirk:

"It can't be done, you fool"
(okay, I didn't say the "you fool" part, I don't like to sleep on the sofa too much)

And then I sent her away... but the question kept bothering me. Because GA4 has the data, I just need to find a way to combine it correctly.

That's why I spent the next full day creating a solution, and now I want to share it with you.

So GA4 can give you products frequently bought... but only sort of.
We will need to use either ChatGPT or Google Sheets to help us.

And don't worry; I have found a way to anonymize your data, so you can still use ChatGPT even if you have privacy concerns.

So, in the video below, I'll teach you how to do it.

Since you subscribe to my newsletter, you can grab the Google Sheet here. You'll need it.

Watch the video here.

Have a great week!

Reader what if you want to know where people click on your website? How can you find that out? Well, in this email, I’ll explain two ways: the easy way & the detailed way. As I mentioned last week, I’m working on something exciting because I’m just so tired of GA4 being… well, GA4… It’s not designed for non-data people. I don’t know many people who think it’s a good tool, but it’s the default… So, I'm creating an alternative to Google Analytics 4. It's made for e-commerce by e-commerce...

Look at the below two options Reader, on an e-commerce shipping page... Which one is more likely to lead to more signups for the newsletter? Left or right? I’ll wait for your answer… ….. …. No peaking! … .. . Well, you would be surprised, it’s the right one. Weird right? Hello Reader Some time ago, a client struggled to determine which products performed well in their store. They had a ton of data but no clear direction. After diving into GA4, they discovered that a few unexpected products were being added to carts more frequently than others. By placing these products higher on key lister pages, they not only increased sales but also optimized their inventory—saving both time and money. So in this email, I’ll show you how to find in Google Analytics 4 what...
